Arkansas Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists

The 2022 Diamond Journalism Awards, hosted by the Arkansas Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, honored reporters in states throughout the region on June 30. The competition was for journalism that was broadcast or published. 

Sonny Rhodes, associate professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Mass Communication, is the 2020 recipient of the Arkansas Press Association Journalism Educator of the Year award. Rhodes received the award during a virtual ceremony during the Arkansas Press Association’s convention.

A University of Arkansas at Little Rock spring graduate with a passion for storytelling has been selected for a competitive summer internship that will serve as the next step in his promising career as a journalist. 

Reporters from KUAR, one of two University of Arkansas at Little Rock public radio stations, and Arkansas Public Media, also based at UA Little Rock, won several Diamond Journalism Awards. The awards program is a regional annual competition sponsored by the Arkansas Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
