For centuries, feminism has been the subject of polarizing debates regarding science and social construct.

UALR’s Office of Community Engagement held its annual Service Fair Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the Donaghey Student Center offering volunteer and internship opportunities to members of the campus community – especially students.

A senior Donaghey Scholar majoring in anthropology was named a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.

Three University of Arkansas at Little Rock students recently returned from presenting their research at the annual Emerging Researchers Conference in Washington, D.C.; two of them earned awards in their respective categories.

More than 1,500 students are expected to participate in UALR’s Spring Commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 18, at the Jack Stephens Center. Among them are graduates like Azure Yarbrough, Bethany Hodges, and Dawn Teer, who attribute hard work and family support as reasons for their success.

Senior biology major Azure Yarbrough is among the more than 1,500 students who are expected to participate in UALR’s Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 18, at the Jack Stephens Center.

Danielle Kemmer and Saad Azam, the most recent recipients of the UALR College of Science Leadership Endowed Scholarship, both said that their desire to serve is the reason they chose to major in science.

Vanessa Young, a recent graduate of UALR’s masters program in biology, will see her research on the capacity for physiological adjustment of salamanders published in the international Journal of Comparative Physiology, Part B.
