UALR celebrates International Celebration Week Nov. 14 to 18 with events filled with music, food, education, and fun designed to increase awareness of national cultures and ways to improve interactions.

Dr. Jan Austin, director of UALR’s Office of Campus Life, accepted a plaque of appreciation from the Arkansas Foodbank at its annual meeting Thursday, Oct. 27, on behalf of several university organizations working to alleviate hunger in central Arkansas.

Mariachis, folklorico, salsa dancing, and more will be featured at the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Council 750 and UALR Council 756 gala from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at UALR’s Donaghey Student Center, Ledbetter Hall.

Representatives of a dozen organizations dedicated to improving access to healthy food will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Ledbetter Hall C in the Donaghey Student Center to promote food security at UALR’s Food Day.
