Before every race this season, UA Little Rock’s cross country runners stretch, jog and focus on the upcoming course in front of them. But looking up from their warm up area, they often see a steady stream of their opposing runners … waiting around to meet Trojan distance coach Alan Webb.

An Olympian and American-record holder in the mile and high school mile, Alan Webb, has joined the University of Arkansas at Little Rock staff as an associate head cross country and assistant track coach going into the 2019-20 season.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Athletics has hired Ashley Reid as an academic success coordinator. In this role, Reid will work with both the Trojans’ compliance and academic offices in maintaining an atmosphere of success for Little Rock student-athletes. 

Little Rock Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque has announced the hiring of Jonathan (J.P.) Behnke as the Trojans’ director and head coach of the Track and Field/Cross Country program.

The Little Rock men’s and women’s cross country teams have released their 2018 regular-season schedule. 

Following the Trojans’ success at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in early June, Little Rock Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Milton Williams has announced his intention to retire from the program. 

Continuing to add to its legacy in the classroom as well as in competition, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Athletics finished the fall 2017 semester with a cumulative 3.3 grade point average among its nearly 200 student-athletes, a new high for the athletic department. 

Nearly 54 percent of University of Arkansas at Little Rock student-athletes were on honored as the Sun Belt Conference released its Commissioner’s List and Honor Roll Aug. 15. 

A University of Arkansas at Little Rock alumnus who made headlines in February after he broke a world record for running the fastest half marathon while pushing a stroller is out to break another world record. 

Former Trojan distance runner Natasha Wodak ran a season best in the 10K at the 2016 Olympics on Friday, Aug. 12, taking 22nd place in 31:53.14.
