A visionary entrepreneur and businessman who recognized the potential of a revolutionary new product developed by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences was honored with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s 2021 Fribourgh Award.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock partnered with 100 Black Men of Greater Little Rock, Ambitious Girls, Inc., Central Arkansas Water, and the Arkansas National Guard to host a weeklong summer environmental STEM (Summer, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program for teens.

Carla Griffin, student development specialist with the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, has been named the 2021 recipient of the Trojan Outstanding Academic Advisor Award at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 

The UA Little Rock Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) has selected its 2021 Faculty Excellence winners.

Jerry and Sherri Damerow, longtime supporters of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Arkansas, have made a planned gift of $1 million to support scholarships for science majors at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has been recognized as having some of the best online programs in computer information technology in the country. U.S. News & World Report ranked UA Little Rock 19th in its 2021 ranking of “Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs.” 

Dr. Lawrence Whitman, dean of the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and his wife, Heidi Whitman, administrative coordinator for the Arkansas District Export Council, have made a planned gift, currently valued at $50,000, to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 

Dr. Brian Berry, vice provost for research and dean of the Graduate School, has made a planned gift, currently valued at about $50,000, to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to support the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will hold a free virtual fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 29, for students who need financial support to complete their degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Two undergraduate programs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics earned reaccreditation this fall.
