The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is celebrating Earth Day with Teslas, a campus cleanup, energy-efficient giveaways, and an electronic recycling drive.

The UA Little Rock Sustainability Committee is accepting submissions of innovative research and teaching proposals for five grants of up to $2,500 toward the development and promotion of the principles of sustainability.

In celebration of Earth Day, contestants soon will show off their skills by designing outfits made entirely out of newspaper and duct tape. The Earth Day Fashion Show will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in the Donaghey Student Center Upper Concourse. Any University of Arkansas at Little Rock student organization may participate.
