A gifted and talented education professor and alumnus have been honored for their part in a book that discusses how to identify and help gifted and talented students from low-income households.
Dr. Christine Deitz, associate director of the Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Children at UA Little Rock, has been elected as a state representative to the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) Board of Directors, the largest advocacy association focused on the needs of talented children and adolescents in the U.S.

UA Little Rock’s Summer Laureate University for Youth (SLUFY) program is accepting applications for this upcoming summer. Their virtual classes will take place June 21-25 for students who have completed kindergarten and grades fifth through sixth, and July 19-23 for students who have completed grades one through four.
