Little Rock Marathon

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock, in partnership with Little Rock Parks & Recreation and Little Rock Marathon, will host a drive-in movie presentation of “Black Panther” on Friday, May 29.

Nearly 70 UA Little Rock faculty, staff, and students spent a rainy weekend staying active and healthy while competing in the Little Rock Marathon March 2-3. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is offering all UA Little Rock students, employees and their families, and members of the Alumni Association the opportunity to participate in the Little Rock Marathon for a discounted rate to help promote personal health and personal fitness for members of the campus community. 

For the second year in a row, Karl Lenser, employee wellness coordinator at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, took first place in the men’s 55-59 age group at the Little Rock Half Marathon on March 3. 

Ed Anson, professor of history at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is doing double duty this weekend by participating in the Little Rock Marathon 5k and half marathon races. 

When Jewel “Diane” Johnson, 62, of Little Rock, saw that the University of Arkansas at Little Rock was helping sponsor employees participating in the Little Rock Marathon 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon, she was simultaneously intrigued and nervous by the prospect of competing in the 5K. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking at least 25 volunteers to help support the participants of the Little Rock Marathon. 

Ever since the Little Rock Marathon began 16 years ago, Tom and Hobbit Singleton, of Maumelle, have been training runners to participate in the 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a training seminar for all faculty, staff, alumni, and students participating in the 16th annual Little Rock Marathon March 3-4.
