Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Program

  More than 225 students, representing over a dozen high schools in central Arkansas, are expected to attend the Model Arab League at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25.

University of Arkansas at Little Rock faculty and students are invited to apply for grants to support activities and scholarship in Middle Eastern studies. 

Dr. Rebecca Glazier, faculty advisor to the UALR Model Arab League and associate professor of political science, recently returned from leading 15 University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Clinton School of Public Service students to the International Model Arab League in Morocco. 

More than 150 Arkansas high school students are expected to participate in the Model Arab League at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Friday and Saturday, March 4-5.

Students interested in learning a second language may take a free Arabic class this semester. The class runs from 6 to 8:40 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Feb. 17, in Stabler Hall, Room 304. The non-credit class is open to the public.
