The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Athletics has hired Ashley Reid as an academic success coordinator. In this role, Reid will work with both the Trojans’ compliance and academic offices in maintaining an atmosphere of success for Little Rock student-athletes. 

Little Rock Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque has announced the hiring of Jonathan (J.P.) Behnke as the Trojans’ director and head coach of the Track and Field/Cross Country program.

Following the Trojans’ success at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in early June, Little Rock Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Milton Williams has announced his intention to retire from the program. 

For their efforts at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, University of Arkansas at Little Rock student-athletes Keshawn Andrews, Ch’kilas Calhoun, Travion Clark, and Charles Okeze were named Second Team All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on June 11.

A historic season came to an end for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s men’s outdoor track team at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships June 6 at the University of Oregon. 

Continuing to add to its legacy in the classroom as well as in competition, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Athletics finished the fall 2017 semester with a cumulative 3.3 grade point average among its nearly 200 student-athletes, a new high for the athletic department. 

Nearly 54 percent of University of Arkansas at Little Rock student-athletes were on honored as the Sun Belt Conference released its Commissioner’s List and Honor Roll Aug. 15. 

Community members can show their support for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock track and field team at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex. 

The summer academic semester was another chance for Trojan student-athletes at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to shine, as they posted a combined 3.06 grade point average over the summer semester.

Former Trojan distance runner Natasha Wodak ran a season best in the 10K at the 2016 Olympics on Friday, Aug. 12, taking 22nd place in 31:53.14.
