In celebration of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, UA Little Rock has highlighted some of the women in science at UA Little Rock, their amazing research, and their journeys to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.

UA Little Rock has partnered with TAO Connect, a digital platform designed to make behavioral health therapy more accessible and effective, to provide the university community with unlimited access to TAO Connect’s digital mental health platform starting in the 2021 spring semester.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has been recognized as having some of the best online programs in computer information technology in the country. U.S. News & World Report ranked UA Little Rock 19th in its 2021 ranking of “Best Online Graduate Computer Information Technology Programs.” 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the Forge Institute have partnered to strengthen the cybersecurity workforce development in Arkansas by providing academic credit for those who complete professional development courses in cybersecurity at the Forge Institute.

Nathan Johnson, a third-year law student at the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, has made the most of his “COVID summer” and has been selected to join the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps. 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Art Gallery will open the new year with three new exhibits featuring Arkansas female artists to watch and the works of faculty members of the UA Little Rock Department of Art and Design. 

Dr. Nitin Agarwal, Jerry L. Maulden-Entergy endowed chair and distinguished professor of information science and director of the Collaboratorium for Social Media and Online Behavioral Studies (COSMOS) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, will be featured in a Jan. 29 discussion of science and discovery with the Arkansas Research Alliance (ARA). 

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of History will host a roundtable discussion to talk about the historical significance of the 2020 election cycle.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has issued a proclamation joining the State of Arkansas in designating Jan. 19 as the National Day of Racial Healing 2021. 

Dr. Lawrence Whitman, dean of the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and his wife, Heidi Whitman, administrative coordinator for the Arkansas District Export Council, have made a planned gift, currently valued at $50,000, to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
