William H. Bowen School of Law

Each year, the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law Student Affairs Office selects a Student Organization of the Year. Selection is based on their community involvement, on-campus engagement, and volunteerism. The 2021 Student Organization of the Year is OutLaw Legal Society. They also received the award for 2019.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will celebrate its spring 2022 graduates with three commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 14, at the Jack Stephens Center. More than 1,250 students are eligible to graduate during the spring 2022 semester.

UA Little Rock Staff Senate has honored three of the university’s outstanding staff members for excellence in the areas of service to the university, personal growth, and community service.

Caleb Alexander-McKinzie, a third-year student at the UA Little Rock William H.  Bowen School of Law, has been recognized by National Jurist Magazine as one of the top 10 law students of the year.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has chosen Joshua Silverstein, Noureen Siraj, and John Kirk as the 2022 winners of the Faculty Excellence Awards.

The UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law’s Center for Racial Justice and Criminal Justice Reform announced that Walmart Inc. has contributed $210,000 to the Center to develop an enhanced community policing project. The program aims to foster greater collaboration between local law enforcement and the communities they serve and protect.

In honor of First-Generation College Student Celebration Month, UA Little Rock is profiling some of its outstanding first-generation students. Jeramy Ashton is a first-generation student from Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently a second-year law student working towards his Juris Doctor degree.

The Duckett Family has made a donation to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to create an endowed student support fund in honor of UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law alumna Stacy Duckett.

The UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law has received a $1 million grant from Walmart, Inc. The grant will fund a Court Observation Project through Bowen’s new Center for Racial Justice and Criminal Justice Reform. Read Walmart’s full announcement here.

Robert Steinbuch, a professor of law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law, will serve another term on Arkansas’s Freedom of Information Act Task Force.
