Christian O’Neal Graduates from Leadership Arkansas Class XIX

Christian O’Neal, vice chancellor for university advancement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has successfully completed Leadership Arkansas Class XIX, a prestigious statewide leadership program organized by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas.
Leadership Arkansas is a unique program that brings together emerging and established leaders from across the state to explore critical issues facing Arkansas. Through nine in-depth sessions, participants gained insights into topics ranging from economic development and agriculture to education, government, tourism, and workforce development. The class of 53 business and community leaders celebrated their graduation May 16 at the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum.
O’Neal said the experience was both rewarding and transformative, offering a broader perspective on the challenges and opportunities that shape Arkansas communities.
“Leadership Arkansas gave me the opportunity to connect with incredible leaders across the state and gain a deeper understanding of the issues impacting Arkansans,” O’Neal said. “Each session challenged me to think more strategically, lead more effectively, and serve more passionately.”
A proud UA Little Rock alumnus, O’Neal has long been a champion of the university’s role in the state’s economic and educational development. He said the lessons and relationships he gained through Leadership Arkansas will enhance his ability to represent and promote the university, especially as UA Little Rock prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2027. The upcoming milestone is marked by the Centennial Campaign, the largest fundraising effort in university history, which is raising funds for scholarships, student support, academic programs, and campus enhancements.
“Participating in Leadership Arkansas reinforced the importance of partnerships and collaboration,” O’Neal said. “As we look toward our centennial, I’m more inspired than ever to share UA Little Rock’s story, build stronger relationships with our alumni and stakeholders, and continue advancing the university’s mission across the state.”
Since its founding in 2005, Leadership Arkansas has graduated nearly 1,000 alumni from nearly every county in the state. The program’s mission is to challenge, inform, inspire, and engage current and future civic and business leaders to build a stronger Arkansas.
