UA Little Rock Rocket League Team Wraps Up Breakout Winning Season

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s esports Rocket League team ended the 2025 season with five wins, making it the first time in program history to win more than half of its games. This milestone reflects the team’s continued growth and progress as the team made its first-ever appearance in the Southeastern Esports League (SEL) LCQ playoff bracket, competing for a chance to move to the highest level.
Throughout the season, the Rocket League players made their mark in the SEL — a collegiate esports organization modeled after the traditional Southeastern Conference in athletics. The SEL brings together universities from across the southeastern United States to compete at a high level in multiple esports titles.
UA Little Rock’s Rocket League team consistently demonstrated strong collaboration and strategic thinking, with two players regularly ranking among the top scorers in the entire conference. Carter Wallace, known in-game as Mountain, held the title of No.1 overall scorer for multiple weeks before being narrowly defeated heading into the playoffs.
The Trojans’ standout season also earned them two featured appearances on the SEL Main Conference live stream, showcasing their talent to a wider collegiate esports audience.
Coach Nathan Griffin praised the team’s effort and progress this year.
“Very proud of the guys and how well they played this season,” Griffin said.”There were a lot of university firsts this season. Next season, we plan to qualify Tier 1 and show them we can compete at the highest level.”
With this winning season under their belt, the UA Little Rock Rocket League team is already looking ahead, ready to keep climbing and make their mark among the best in collegiate esports.
