A UA Little Rock graduate has taken on a new leadership role and will be helping to inspire the next generation of Girl Scouts across a three-state region.

UA Little Rock Alumna Mary Grace Herrington has been named the new president and CEO of the Girl Scouts – Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas Board of Directors.

With offices in Little Rock, Rogers, Fort Smith, and Jonesboro and active camp properties in Huntsville, Fort Smith, and Hot Springs, Girl Scouts – Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas serves approximately 6,000 girls and adults across Arkansas.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead an amazing and accomplished team for one of the world’s most recognized and respected movements,” Herrington said. “Experiences that build courage, confidence, and character so that girls can realize their fullest potential contributed greatly to my growing up in Arkansas, and it’s an exciting time to give back in a meaningful way.”

As CEO, Herrington will expertly balance her roles as leader, fundraiser, partner, and chief Girl Scout advocate. With a commitment to innovation, she will champion programs that expand opportunities, foster exploration, and inspire the next generation of leaders. Through her leadership, Girl Scout programs will continue to empower young women to lead with courage, confidence, and character.

“The Board of Directors selected Herrington for her alignment with the Girl Scout mission combined with her unique skill set and background in strategic nonprofit fundraising and managing multi-stakeholder environments,” said Kim Snipes, search committee chair and chair of the Board of Directors.

Herrington, a Girl Scout alum and nonprofit sector veteran of 20 years, joins Girl Scouts – Diamonds from Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, where she served as the director of development. Prior to that, Herrington held fundraising and nonprofit leadership roles in higher education and public media. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communication from UA Little Rock and a Master of Public Administration from Drake University in Des Moines.

She earned First Class, the highest Girl Scout Award, equivalent to today’s Gold Award, and is a lifetime member, served as a board member for Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, and maintains her Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification, underscoring her ongoing commitment to professional growth and excellence in the field.

“We are delighted to welcome Mary Grace to our legacy of sisterhood,” said Dawn Prasifka, the council’s outgoing CEO. “Her vision and commitment to the Girl Scout mission are evident, and I am confident she will drive our council forward, building on our strong foundation.”
