UA Little Rock to Hold Ethics and Philosophy Summer Academy

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is looking for talented high school students to attend its second Ethics and Philosophy Summer Academy.
The summer academy will bring up to 25 high school students to live on campus for a week of philosophy and fun from June 9-13, at no cost to participants or their families.
The summer academy is open to any rising sophomore, junior, or senior from Arkansas who is interested in learning more about philosophy and ethics. More information is available at the academy’s website.
The theme of this year’s academy is “Philosophy and Creativity.” Under the guidance of experienced college faculty and high school teachers, students will consider a variety of philosophical concepts, encounter diverse points of view, develop skills in argument analysis and construction, and practice civil discourse and debate. The academy will include philosophy seminars, small group activities, and films and games in the evening. The academy will conclude with its own Ethics Bowl.
Interested students should apply online by March 28. For more information, contact Dr. Jana McAuliffe, associate professor of philosophy, at [email protected].
