Dr. Elizabeth Sotelo is an assistant professor of Spanish at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She earned her Ph.D. in romance languages from the University of Oregon, her M.A. in Spanish from the University of California, Riverside, and her B.A. in Spanish from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She specializes in Latin American literature and culture, with a focus on 21st-century Mexican and Peruvian works, particularly in the chronicle genre. Her research spans journalism, cultural studies, memory studies, gender politics, and film studies. Sotelo has also published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and has led Spanish-speaking circles, as well as acted as a peer reviewer.
