Karen Dauenhauer is a scenic designer and scenic artist. She graduated from Mississippi University for Women in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in theatre and a minor in music. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Design from the University of Georgia in 2021.
Dauenhauer first became involved with theatre when she played a minor role in a community college production of “The Wizard of Oz” at the age of 12. Her past credits include director, choreographer, technician, and actor; all of which have influenced her work as a designer. She served as technical director and clinical assistant professor at Coker University from 2021-2023. In 2023, she began her new position as assistant professor of scenic design at UA Little Rock. In her spare time, she takes on freelance design work as well as art commissions.
