Rachel Burns has been a nurse for more than 10 years and has varied experience in medical-surgical, neonatal intensive care, and oncology, both in the acute care and clinic settings. She joined UA Little Rock as an assistant professor of nursing in the ASN program in 2024 and previously worked as an educator in a practical nursing program since 2020. Her current focus is in acute care and pediatric education with an emphasis in clinical simulation. Outside of the classroom, Burns works in the NICU at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She is a wife, a mother, a foster parent, and is passionate about advocating for children and ensuring that every child has a safe place to grow.
