William Cox is an assistant professor at UA Little Rock, bringing over 24 years of experience as a Cyber Warfare Operator in the United States Air Force. His extensive career began as a tech controller, providing vital communication support to global network operations. Driven by a passion for information systems, Cox earned numerous industry certifications, including CISSP, Microsoft Certified IT Professional, Cisco Certified Network Associate, and CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+. He holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity, a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, and multiple Associate of Applied Science degrees.
Building on his extensive experience, Cox’s doctoral research focuses on empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired (BVI) to successfully enter and thrive in the cybersecurity workforce. This involves investigating how accessible cybersecurity tools and specialized training methodologies can facilitate their integration into this critical field. With over 15 years of experience, Cox has taught cybersecurity concepts and introductory IT courses at various institutions, including the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, Harford College, and the Air Force Institute of Technology. His expertise spans offensive and defensive tactics, cyber law and ethics, AI, and operational technology.
