New ORSP Liaison
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs is excited to welcome our new ORSP Partner Kate Lincourt! In this new role, she’ll serve as a liaison between ORSP and the university’s colleges and offices, helping support principal investigators, faculty and staff with grant development and management. Kate joins ORSP from the university’s Office of Institutional Research and Analytics. Kate will provide support related to sponsored programs for each of the colleges, which requires close collaboration with faculty and financial staff in grant activities.
“Kate will provide support to principal investigators, staff and finance directors on how to perform various business processes related to grant activity,” ORSP Director Tammie Cash said. “She will also act as a resource in the proposal development process.”
Kate said she sees part of her new role as serving to help route people to the right person in ORSP, as well as providing answers to frequent questions. She emphasized that her focus will be on helping members of the university community navigate the grants process, not replacing the work done by other units of ORSP. “Once you get assigned to someone in the office, I’m not replacing any of that,” she said.
She’s hit the ground running learning the processes involved in applying for, setting up, and managing grants, along with talking to stakeholders across campus about their needs and how she can help them. Part of that, she said, has been working on putting herself in a researcher’s shoes. She’s especially looking for opportunities to improve the training and information ORSP offers our partners across campus.
