The Office of the Provost is accepting application for a Provost Fellow, an interim one-year appointment for faculty interested in gaining leadership experience and knowledge of university-level operations in the Division of Academic Affairs. This is a one year position, from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, and is a direct report to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost.

The Provost Fellow is a 50% appointment with an expectation of 20 hours per week in the Office of the Provost. If the selected faculty member is currently in a 9 month appointment, salary adjustments for this position will include a salary calculation of 20 hours per week during the summer plus a stipend. If the selected faculty member is a 12 month appointment, salary adjustment for this position will include a stipend.

Position Responsibilities

  • Completion of Teaching Workload Policy Revision Project  
  • Review and respond to academic student complaints 
  • Facilitate the Academic Grade Appeal Process at the Provost level
  • Assist with Academic Program Review 
  • Support the  University New Faculty Mentoring Program 
  • Support the New Faculty Orientation Program
  • Other duties as assigned

Eligibility

  • Tenured Associate Professor or Professor
  • Able to step into this half-time role without significant detriment to their home academic unit
