Social Workers Against Racial Injustice

The UA-Little Rock School of Social Work is heartbroken and appalled by the continued violence against African-Americans at the hands of the entire justice system, and are committed to addressing and ameliorating anti-black racism in our local communities and beyond. We mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery and countless others. We extend our love and support to their families. We mourn together with them and our own communities.

Social work and our faculty have a lengthy commitment to challenging this type of oppression and will continue to educate future social workers who advocate for social justice. We call on our alums and students to continue to take action in service of racial equity and affirm that black lives matter.

We will continue to work tirelessly to create inclusive environments where all students, staff, and faculty feel safe and valued.
