Spanish Core Curriculum

Spanish core classes (required for major, minor, and certificate)

  • The Spanish Core Curriculum are required beginning and intermediate courses necessary to advance in the Major, Minor, and Workplace certificate.
  • SPAN 10103 and SPAN 10203 do not count towards the Spanish core. Students may test out of these courses and start Intermediate Spanish (SPAN 20103) or Spanish for Heritage Speakers (SPAN 30333).
  • Students may test into their respective level of proficiency by taking the Emmersion Foreign Language Placement Exam free of charge at the following link.
  • Spanish for Writing is a core requirement for all Spanish Majors, Minors, and Certificates.
  • Students must complete all courses in the Spanish Core Curriculum with a C or better in order to advance in the major, minor, or Workplace Certificate.
