Where can I find information about CAHC’s collections?

We have both processed collections and unprocessed collections in our holdings. Finding aids and digitized materials from our processed collections can also be found in our online catalog.

Where is CAHC located?

CAHC is in the Bobby Roberts Library of Arkansas History and Art (401 President Clinton Ave.) The Roberts Library is in downtown Little Rock in the River Market District.

We share the Roberts Library with another archive, the Central Arkansas Library System’s Butler Center for Arkansas Studies. Although we are two separate institutions, we have the same goal of preserving and providing access to Arkansas history.

How can I view CAHC materials in person?

The research room is located on the second floor of the Roberts Library, accessed through the main entrance at 401 President Clinton Ave. The research room is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

To make your research experience as efficient as possible, CAHC and the Butler Center share the research room and online catalog so that you can view materials from both archives in the same place.

Will I need an appointment?

No, we do not require appointments in advance to access materials. However, we do encourage them to provide quicker and more effective service. To book an appointment or consult with an archivist about the materials you would like to view, fill out the Request Materials & Appointments form.

Is there available parking at the library?

Yes. You can park in the Main Library parking lot or parking garage located at 333 President Clinton Ave (view parking at Library Square rates). Please bring your parking ticket to the research room desk for a two-hour validation sticker. Street parking is also available.

What online/remote services do you offer?

Do you charge for services?
