Basu named as distinguished IEEE Fellow

According to its website: The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization of electronics engineers.

IEEE Fellow status is a distinction reserved for select IEEE members whose extraordinary accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest are deemed fitting of this prestigious grade elevation.

Dr. Arya Basu became a member of the UA Little Rock Department of Computer Science faculty in 2022. Since then, he has hit the ground running as far as research and course offerings.
Dr. Basu earned his BS in information technology from West Bengal University of Technology in India as well as a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Georgia. He worked as a visual information specialist and research scientist at the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship before joining UA Little Rock in 2022. Dr. Basu also serves as faculty advisor for the UA Little Rock student chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
