The EAC is led by key personnel who bridge the gap between technology and user experience.

Tom Coffin serves as Operations Manager, bringing over three decades of experience in virtual reality application development and advanced collaborative environments, combined with three decades of project management expertise as both a Fine Artist (MFA) and Project Manager. His role focuses on the integration of audio, high definition video, virtual reality applications, big broadband networks and supercomputing capabilities into designed architectural spaces coupled with user-specific application development ensuring that complex virtual environment systems are efficiently mapped to end-user needs.

Jason Zak functions as Lead Artist, holding dual BFA degrees in Game Art & Design and traditional fine arts, while working professionally as a 3D modeler, game developer, graphic designer, computer animator, and UI designer.

Together, Coffin and Zak create a unique operational framework that combines rigorous project management with creative visualization techniques, enabling the center’s research in immersive virtual environments and applications to translate complex data into accessible, interactive experiences which apply to a wide range of contexts.
