artWORKS Lecture by Carey Voss, “Art Adjacent: My Career in the Museum Field”

In an upcoming artWORKS lecture, Carey Voss will share her winding path from an MFA in Painting to a fulfilling career as Curator of Exhibits for Historic Arkansas Museum. Carey will discuss her enthusiasm for art-adjacent jobs and how she learned to love networking (aka building relationships with other artists and art professionals).
Voss will provide an overview of her role as a curator; she’ll offer tips for getting work exhibited in museums and galleries; and she’ll talk about the importance of planning for documentation, storage, transportation, and display all the things that happen after an artwork is completed.
