IBUS 4316/5316 – Field Study in International Business
Students pursuing a degree in international business are required to take an international trip. This allows students to:
- explore the international dimensions of business
- identify and pursue strategic issues in the international business
- gain an awareness of how cultural, economic, political and legal environments influence business practices
Students will study and conduct research on the country and prepare a report detailing business and cultural practices, and the political and economic environments prior to travel. When the trip is over, students will write a summary of their experiences and compare expectations before the field study with the realities of international business.
Students will also prepare a marketing plan on a product/service to be offered in the visiting country. Students must pay for the airfare, lodging, and meals. This counts for three credit hours.
