Curriculum Vitae

Lindsey P. Gustafson is the Nadine Baum Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. She teaches Real Property I and II; Research, Writing, and Analysis; and Lawyering Professions, which focuses on supporting students as they develop their professional identities. She teaches her courses using team-based learning, a method she has used for nearly two decades and which has produced measurable improvements in student learning.
Professor Gustafson is a founding editor of the Journal of Law Teaching and Learning and the Journal for Appellate Practice and Process, and she co-directs the Institute for Law Teaching and Learning (ILTL), a national organization supporting excellence in legal pedagogy. She also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Legal Writing Institute and has held a series of national leadership roles, including with the Association of Legal Writing Directors and the Southeastern Association of Law Schools. She currently serves as Chair of the Part-Time Section of the Association of American Law Schools. Her scholarship focuses on pedagogy, assessment, and professional identity formation.

Professor Gustafson has been nominated for and received the law school’s Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching several times and the Faculty Excellence Award in Public Service. Her commitment to public service extends beyond the law school: she previously served as President of the Pulaski County Special School District Board of Education and has held appointed roles on the district’s community and health advisory committees.
Professor Gustafson earned her B.A. in English, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University, and her J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the BYU J. Reuben Clark Law School, where she served as Executive Editor of the BYU Law Review.
