Discover Law Day set for Feb. 21 at Bowen

UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of LawThe University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law is hosting Discover Law Day on Wednesday, Feb. 21, to share information about the law school and legal profession.

The event will be 6-8 p.m. at the law school, located at 1201 McMath Ave., Little Rock.

The program includes panel discussions from current law school students, Bowen faculty, and practicing attorneys. Participants will learn about skills needed for success on the LSAT and in law school.

“Research shows that students who apply to law school make their decisions much earlier than with other professional programs,” said John DiPippa, dean of the law school. “This event is designed to give participants a head start in that decision.”

The purpose of the event is to educate young students in high school, community college, or the early years of undergraduate school and from racial or ethnic groups underrepresented in the legal profession about the possibilities of a legal career. Anyone interested in a legal career, however, is invited to attend.

Registration is available online.

This event is sponsored by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) as part of its Diversity Matters initiative. As one of LSAC’s 221 member law schools, the Bowen School of Law shares the organization’s commitment to increasing diversity in the legal profession.
