Private Donor Scholarships

Private Donor Scholarships at UA Little Rock are available for current students who meet the scholarship criteria.

  • If you currently have a UA Little Rock private scholarship, it may be renewable. However, the scholarship cannot be renewed unless there is a current application on file.
  • Private scholarship awards may impact other sources of financial aid administered through UA Little Rock.
  • All scholarship recipients are required to write a personal letter of thanks to the donor before scholarship funds are posted.
  • Private scholarships are awarded based on availability of funds and are subject to change.
  • Scholarships are awarded for the 2018-2019 school year

University of Arkansas Foundation Scholarships

Black Law Student Association Scholarship
Purpose: Provide assistance for educational related expenses for students pursuing a degree at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Requirements:Recipient shall be a member of BLSA and academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.

Brett Gary Blakney Endowed Memorial Scholarship
Purpose:To honor the memory Brett Blakney and provide educational related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees, and room and board for students pursuing a degree at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Requirements: Recipient shall be a full- or part-time first year student majoring in law.  Preferences shall be given to students who demonstrate financial need.

Essay: Applicants must submit a statement of 500 words or less describing their financial need, the experiences in their life that lead them to apply to law school and how they plan to use their law degree.

Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz Endowed Book Award
Purpose: To honor Dean Michael Hunter Schwartz and to provide assistance for any education related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees and room and board for students pursuing or furthering a degree at the William H. Bowen School of Law.

Requirements: Recipient shall be an entering 1L student with financial need.

Jewell Minnis Scholarship Fund
Purpose: To honor the memory of Jewell Minnis.

Requirements: Recipient will be a first year law student at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

John N. Stern Scholars Fund
Purpose: The purpose of the scholars fund is to honor the career and service of John N. Stern.  Provide educational related expenses to first year students enrolled in the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to students demonstrating Mr. Stern’s attributes of intelligence, initiative, and enthusiasm for learning.

Requirements: Recipient shall be a resident of Arkansas and be enrolled as a full-time first year law student. Preference shall be given to students from Jefferson County, demonstrate attributes of intelligence, initiative, and enthusiasm for learning.

Harper & Mary Boyer Harb Scholarship Award
Purpose: To honor Harper & Mary Boyer Harb

Requirements: Scholarship for Arkansas residents who are Law students attending the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Law School. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Awards are based on academics, school activities, community service, athletics, future goals, faculty and advisor recommendations, and financial need

Monterrey & Tellez Endowed Book Award
Purpose: To provide assistance for any educational related expenses, including but not limited to tuition, books, fees and room and board for students pursuing a degree at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Requirements: Recipient shall be a full or part time student at the William H. Bowen School of Law and a member in good standing of the Hispanic Law Student Association.  Consideration shall be given to financial need.

Essay: Applicants must submit a statement of 500 words or less describing their involvement in the Hispanic community and commitment to the Hispanic Law Student Association.

 

Arkansas Bar Foundation Scholarships

ABF Scholarship in Memory of U.M. Rose, Edward Wright
Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Bernard and Bud Whetstone Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Bernard and Bud Whetstone

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit

Brian MacMillan Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Brian MacMillian

Requirements: Recipient shall be a student planning to engage in trial work.

Col. C.E. Ransick Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Col. C.E. Ransick

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

C.R. Warner Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of C.R. Warner

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

David Solomon Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of David Solomon.

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need from Phillips County and eastern Arkansas.

E. Charles Eichenbaum
Purpose: To honor the memory of E. Charles Eichenbaum

Requirements: Preference will be given to a 2L or 3L student with financial need and academic merit.

Edward Lester Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Edward Lester

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Friday, Eldridge & Clark/Hershel H. Friday Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Hershel H. Friday

Requirements: Preference will be given to a 2L or 3L student with financial need and a cumulative LGPA of at least 3.25

Guy Amsler Jr. Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of E. Charles Eichenbaum

Requirements: Preference will be given to a 2L or 3L student with financial need and academic merit.

Harry P. Warner Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Harry P. Warner

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

James A. Larrison Jr. Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of James A. Larrison

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need.

Judge Henry Woods Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Judge Henry Woods

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Judge J. Smith Henley
Purpose: To honor the memory of Judge J. Smith Henley

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Justice J. Frank Holt
Purpose: To honor the memory of Justice J. Frank Holt

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Justice John A. Fogleman
Purpose: To honor the memory of Justice John A. Fogleman

Requirements: Preference will be given to a 2L or 3L student with financial need and academic merit.

McKinley Family Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of the McKinley Family

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit from Arkansas County or First Congressional District.

R.A. Eilbott, Jr. Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of R.A. Eilbott, Jr.

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need, an interest in criminal law, and from southeast Arkansas.

Rather, Beyer & Harper Scholarship
Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Rose Law Firm
Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

Roxanne Tomhave Wilson
Purpose: To honor the memory of Roxanne Tomhave Wilson

Requirements: Preference will be given to a female, 1L student with financial need and academic merit.


Ruth Huskey & John Brunson Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of Ruth Huskey and John Brunson

Requirements: Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

U.M. Rose Scholarship
Purpose: To honor the memory of U.M. Rose

Requirements:Preference will be given to a student with financial need and academic merit.

W. Jane Knight
Purpose: To honor the memory of W. Jane Knight

Requirements: Preference will be given to a part-time student with financial need.


Wright, Lindsey & Jenkins LLP Scholarship
Requirements: Preference will be given to student in the top third of the class, has financial need, has potential to succeed as a lawyer, and intends to practice in Arkansas.
