The UA Little Rock, William H. Bowen School of Law is dedicated to providing quality legal education to non-traditional students, working adults, and others whose best chance of attending law school is a part-time evening program. The program always attracts the highest quality students who have an undeniable tenacity to constantly exceed expectations and become industry leaders.
Bowen offers the only part-time program in Arkansas. The faculty and curriculum for the part-time and full-time program are the same, however, the part-time program is designed to allow students to complete the J.D. degree over four academic years. The program is designed to give all students the same opportunities to participate in the Bowen community and excel academically and professionally.
Part-time students do not have any work restrictions like full-time students and can reduce or eliminate debt by working while in law school. Part-time students also have the unique advantage of participating in Bowen’s one-of-a-kind Part-Time Student Practicum program which provides students with experiential learning opportunities with judges and prosecutors.
Classes in the part-time evening program meet Monday through Thursday evenings from approximately 5:45 to 9:25 p.m. During your first year of law school, part-time students are required to take 10 credit hours a semester. The current Academic Calendar can be found HERE and this semester’s class schedule can be found HERE.
If you are interested in attending Bowen’s part-time program but hesitant because of the time commitment and work/life balance, attend our Night at the Law School event.
