UALR Reintroduces Executive MBA
The UALR College of Business is reintroducing its Executive MBA program and recruiting budding leaders for Class XII.
New features of the refocused, elite program are leadership assessment and professional coaching. The program will continue its applications focus and integrative experiential learning throughout the 18-month management degree program designed for experienced business professionals.
“Providing strong and successful leadership, identifying opportunities and solutions, and successfully navigating the complex global business landscape, are just a few of the daunting challenges facing today’s busy executives,” said College of Business Dean Anthony Chelte.
“The reintroduction of the UALR Executive MBA program is an important part of the College of Business’ commitment to developing successful and responsible business leaders,” Chelte said. ” The 12th Executive MBA cohort will be comprised of a carefully selected and diverse group of participants. The program helps build capacity for innovative and strategic approaches to complexities of the global business environment and the uncertainty of the global economy.”
UALR’s EMBA offers an exclusive, accelerated curriculum that bridges the gap between theory and real-world application, integrating essential technological and financial knowledge. With a professional development focus, participants will further develop team building, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills by exchanging experiences with executives from diverse backgrounds — and bring innovative ideas back to their organizations.
The alternating-weekend EMBA program also includes executive panels, case studies, study teams, and an international field study. Surveying business strategy and culture in an international environment is an integral part of the EMBA to include touring business facilities and political and cultural venues, visiting with company executives, and attending lectures by distinguished faculty at nearby universities.
To qualify for admission, candidates must have:
• Five years or more of management or professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 or higher, or a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the last 60 hours.
• Employer’s permission to participate and attend all classes.
Candidates must complete an application and submit supporting documents. A personal interview with the Admissions Committee is also required.
Applications will be accepted from July 7 through Sept. 30. Following an orientation and residency Nov. 17-20, classes for EMBA XII will begin in January and meet on Fridays and Saturdays every other week with completion in June 2012.
