ASI Hosts Sequoyah Art Exhibit through April

“Anticipation of the Future: Contemporary American Indian Art,” an exhibit from Sequoyah National Research Center’s Dr. J.W. Wiggins Native American Art Collection at UALR, opened Friday, Feb. 11, at the Arkansas Studies Institute at 401 President Clinton Avenue. The show will run through April 30. The exhibit was part of the “Second Friday Art Walk” in downtown Little Rock. Wiggins presented a short program, “A Brief Introduction to Native American Art,” at the opening. Wiggins will speak again at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, during a reception at the opening of an exhibit of Native American pottery at the J.W Wiggins Gallery at the Sequoyah National Research Center in UALR’s University Plaza, Suite 500. “Oklahoma Clay: Northeast Oklahoma Native American Pottery” will run from Feb. 19 to March 25.
