Beatles Medley Featured in Spring Concert
The UALR Department of Music will present the Guitar Ensemble’s spring concert, including medley of Beatles compositions arranged by Professor Michael Carenbauer. The 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 25, concert in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall of UALR’s Fine Arts Building is free and open to the public. In addition to the Beatles’ music, the concert program features “Discantus” and “Brazilliance” by Brazilian guitarist Laurindo Almeida, a transcription of the standard “Bluesette,” and ensemble performances of “Jaco” and “American Garage” by Pat Metheny. The Beatles medley includes “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Things We Said Today,” “Good Morning,” “Drive My Car,” “Michelle,” “This Boy,” “Because,” “Yer Blues,” “Ticket to Ride,” “Happiness is a Warm Gun,” “Nowhere Man,” and “I Feel Fine.” In addition to Carenbauer, musicians include Read Admire, John Burnette, Cody Lucas, Samuel Lopez, Lucas Murray, Benjamin Thiele, and Daniel Vazquez on guitars; Adam Tompkin on drums, and Brad Birge on electric bass.
