Alums Picked for Summit for Writers
Three UALR alumni have been selected to participate in the first annual Oxford American Summit for Ambitious Writers to be held at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute later this month.
Robert Bruno of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the English program. He served as co-editor of UALR’s journal of fiction, Equinox.
Suzi Garcia of Little Rock is a 2011 graduate of the English program. She served as co-editor of Equinox. This spring, UALR awarded Garcia the Whitbeck Award, the greatest distinction the University bestows on a graduating student.
Erin Pennington Wood of Little Rock is a 2009 graduate of the Professional and Technical Writing program. She currently serves as the managing editor for Literature and Medicine and is chief operating officer and editor of Et Alia Press. Her work has appeared in The Healing Muse, Tales From the South, The Emprise Review, Quills & Pixels and Equinox.
The Oxford American Summit for Ambitious Writers will host burgeoning writers of both fiction and nonfiction at the five-day conference. Faculty at the Summit will include local authors Kevin Brockemeier and Jay Jennings as well as editor of the New Yorker, David Remnick. View more stories in News
