250 Neighbors Sign Up to Get Fit
More than 250 University District residents participated in UALR’s Wellness Fair Thursday, Sept. 15 through Saturday, Sept. 17, joining students, faculty, and staff for free health assessments.
In addition to the free health assessments, blood pressure checks, and body mass index measures, neighbors were invited to sign up for a free year’s membership to the UALR fitness center.
Free memberships to the UALR fitness center are part the Growing Healthy Communities initiative from the Arkansas Coalition for Obesity Prevention.
The membership includes top-of-the-line weight-assist and free-weight equipment, cardio-fitness training equipment, the indoor track and outdoor metric trail, aquatic center, basketball and racquetball courts, locker rooms, group fitness classes and more.
