Three Journals Publish Health Faculty Research
Three journals on the business of sports will publish research articles by two UALR health sciences professors, including one that suggests the behavior of rabid sports fans causes physical health risks.
The study by Dr. Dan Sweeney, assistant professor of health sciences, and Dr. Donna Quimby, chair of the Department of Health Sciences, examines the “physical health behavior differences between high and low identified sports fans.” The paper has been accepted for publication by The Sport Journal.
Sweeney is also the lead researcher in a paper titled, “Identification and its impact on attitudes toward corporate social responsibility: the ‘internal/external’ stakeholder perspective,” that was accepted for publication by the International Journal of Sport Management.
The Journal of Promotion Management will publish a third paper by Sweeney. He co-authors a paper that explores the role of the Internet in the promotion management of sports teams and franchise brands.
