On Senior Day in front of a supportive crowd, the Trojans completed a perfect home schedule and stretched their overall winning streak to 20 matches.

Coach Van Compton also tied the Sun Belt all-time conference wins record of 215 with Sunday’s final score, and as a team, UALR recorded its third-highest attack percentage of the season with .416.

The Trojans are aiming to close out their perfect conference schedule with an on-the-road win against Arkansas State University this Saturday.

Just as the women’s volleyball team closes out its season, the UALR women’s basketball team returned home fresh off a 70-54 victory on the road against LSU last week.

women basketballUALR had four double-digit scorers against LSU last Friday, and the team dominated No. 24 LSU in every facet of the game in the second half, marking the Trojans’ first win over a nationally ranked team since 2008 when they beat Oklahoma State.

On Tuesday, the Trojans battled against Missouri State University at Jack Stephens Center in a home-opener that aired on ESPN3. The final score was 61-48, making the victory just UALR’s second ever against the Lady Bears all-time and the first since 2007. The Trojans are now 2-0 for the first time since 2008, and Tuesday was the team’s second consecutive win in a home opener.

The women’s basketball team is riding a huge wave of success over the last decade and is picked second in the Sun Belt’s preseason coaches poll. Two players are on the All-Sun Belt Preseason Team, and Coach Joe Foley is back for his 12th year.

The Trojans have made the postseason for six of the last seven seasons including three NCAA Tournament berths and three WNIT trips.
