Quills & Pixels deadline set for Sept. 21
The peer-reviewed student publication, “Quills & Pixels,” is accepting nonfiction submissions for the fall semester. Writers should submit their work by Sept. 21 to be considered for publication.
Nonfiction works in all forms are accepted: personal essays, research essays, creative nonfiction, academic writing, journalistic features, technical communication, and other genres.
“Quills & Pixels” does not review or publish poetry, fiction, or drama.
Submissions will be reviewed for the following year’s publication. Authors will be notified about their work by Dec. 31 of the year submitted.
All writers associated with the UALR community — students, staff, and faculty, as well as alumni of the university and people involved in any of UALR’s outreach and community programs — are encouraged to submit.
People affiliated with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, William H. Bowen School of Law, and the Clinton School of Public Service may also send work.
Authors should submit their writing as a Microsoft Word document in an email to Dr. Charles Anderson at cmanderson@ualr.edu. An information form, which can be found online, must accompany each submission. Work will not be considered without contact information.
Electronic submissions are preferred, but “Quills & Pixels” accepts hard copies. Drop boxes are located in the University Writing Center and in the Department of Rhetoric and Writing in Old Student Union B. Submissions may also be mailed to the Department of Rhetoric and Writing, University of Arkansas at Little Rock, 2801 S. University Ave. SU-B 100, Little Rock, AR 72204.
More than one piece may be submitted by the writer. For guidelines, visit https://ualr.edu/rhetoric/home/qp/
