Professor takes home ‘best screenplay’ award
A University of Arkansas at Little Rock professor recently was honored at the El Dorado Film Festival.
Frank H. Thurmond, visiting professor of English, won “best screenplay” for his work on “The Dealer’s Tale,” a movie that also earned nominations for best director and best southern film.
Thurmond was the writer and director of the movie, an 18-minute modern take on Chaucer’s “Pardoner’s Tale.”
El Dorado, Arkansas, hosted the second-year film festival, Sept. 17-19.
