Quills & Pixels seeking digital photos submissions
Quills & Pixels, UALR’s peer-reviewed journal of nonfiction writing, is accepting submissions for digital photographs to illustrate its 2016 issue. Photographers should submit their work by April 1 to be considered for publication.
The theme of the issue is “The Beginning, The End, and Everything In Between,” which is the broadest theme ever chosen by the journal. The individual sections in the book will focus on innocence, adversity, laughter, time, desire, lament, farewell, and legacy. Photographers are encouraged to interpret the overall theme and subsections as imaginatively as possible when taking and selecting photographs.
UALR students, employees, and alumni may submit a maximum of six original, unpublished image files via any photo sharing service, including Picasa, Flickr, or a shared Google Drive folder.
Images may be submitted in color or black and white, in any format readable by Adobe Photoshop, and with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels per inch. Images that do not fit these guidelines will not be considered. Any entry may be cropped, edited, and/or resized to meet the needs of the publication.
Photographers of images selected for publication will receive publication credit and two copies of Quills & Pixels 2016.
To submit entries, email the photo sharing link, your name, and email address to Dr. Charles Anderson at cmanderson@ualr.edu with the subject line “Quills & Pixels Photo Submission.” Image files should not be attached to the email. Submissions without email addresses will not be considered.
