Get ready for a showdown between the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Arkansas State University, Monday, Feb. 12 through Saturday, Feb. 17.

The two universities have teamed up to host a Battle of the Food Pantries during the week of the final matchup between the Little Rock Trojans and Arkansas State Red Wolves men’s and women’s basketball teams. The university that collects the most non-perishable food items during the six-day food drive will be announced as the winner of the competition during Saturday’s game.

Members of the UA Little Rock community are strongly encouraged to participate in the food drive. Items needed for the Trojan Food Pantry include canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned beans, canned tuna and chicken, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, and more.

Donations will be collected at a table in the Donaghey Student Center foyer from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day during the competition. Items can also be dropped off in the Chancellor’s Leadership Corps. office in room 202 of the Administration North building.
