UA Little Rock to host Google Cardboard Event Feb. 28

UA Little Rock’s Society of Computer and Information Sciences (SOCIS) will host an instructional workshop on Google’s Cardboard virtual reality platform on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the University Commons Theater.

Google Cardboard is designed to be a low-cost, easy to use entry into the rapidly-growing field of virtual reality. Units can be built from a range of common materials, most commonly cardboard, and function as a head mount for smartphones.

The workshop will demonstrate and walk participants through the process of building their own Google Cardboard headset. Lenses will be provided by SOCIS. Participants are asked to bring their own cardboard as materials are limited. Participation is free and open to the entire campus community.
