Colby Qualls, a 2018 graduate of the Clinton School of Public Service who completed his concurrent juris doctor at the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 2019, has accepted a clerkship with the Honorable Judge Gregory Miller of the Third District Superior Court in Alaska.

Qualls will conduct legal research for Miller and will assist in drafting some of his orders and opinions. He heard about the opening through Bowen School of Law professor Kim Vu-Dinh, who clerked in Alaska years ago. 

Qualls said he will consider taking the Alaska Bar Exam next year. 

“I knew that I really wanted my first post-law school job to be a judicial clerkship, and I wasn’t particularly tied to a specific area or state within the United States,” Qualls said. “When I had learned about this possible opportunity through Professor Vu-Dinh, I thought it was worth taking a shot.” 

Qualls’ time at the Clinton School of Public Service included an International Public Service Project that took him to Albania to work with the Albanian Institute of Public Affairs, where he helped with research and advocacy related to democratization, good governance, and development.
