UA Little Rock’s Counseling Services will host a Self-Care Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Donaghey Student Center and Ottenheimer Library.

The event will raise awareness about counseling services and other self-care services available at UA Little Rock. Five booths, each representing one of Maslow’s five Hierarchy of Needs, will be set up in Ottenheimer Library as well as the Donaghey Student Center’s foyer and mall. Booths will represent physical needs, safety, relationships, self-esteem, and self actualization.

“The fair is designed to increase individual self-awareness and build resilience, self-confidence, and belief in one’s ability to cope with life’s uncertainties,” Counseling Services Director Dr. Mike Kirk said.

The fair will feature a myriad of campus community self-care resources. Additionally, participating community partners include Arkansas Employee Assistance Program, Fleet Feet Little Rock, HOPE Therapy Dogs, Natural Grocers, Nutrition Hub & Elite Chiropractic, Peak Performance Neurofeedback, Pinnacle State Park, Rock Region Metro, and Witt Stephens Nature Center.

Attendance is free and open to all members of the UA Little Rock community.
