2nd Friday Art Night Returns to Little Rock River Market
UA Little Rock Downtown will be showcasing the photographs of graduate assistant Chris Banks at 2nd Friday Art Night from 5-8 p.m. Nov. 13.
Banks recently graduated from UA Little Rock with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with an emphasis in journalism. He returned this fall for a certificate in photography. Banks has been taking photos since he took a photography course three years ago. He enjoys taking photos of his family members.
“After graduation, I hope to either pursue my MFA at an out-of-state university or build up professional experience working as a photographer or at a museum,” said Banks.
Ross Owyoung, director of UA Little Rock Downtown, and Banks are working on a special project that involves taking the photos from the 1970s and 80s of downtown Little Rock and then compare and contrast them to photos from 2020.
Banks’ photographs will be displayed in the moveable gallery walls at UA Little Rock Downtown.
Since May, 2nd Friday Art Night has been virtual due to the pandemic. This Friday, it will be returning downtown to the Little Rock River Market. Masks will be required.
Music will be proved by Bantunauts Raydio, who has a weekly radio show on KABF 88.3 where he plays music from Africa and around the world.
