The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a six-week Youth Acting Workshop this fall.   The workshop is for students ages 7-12 and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from Sept. 18 to Oct. 23 in the University Theatre building at UA Little Rock. The program is a collaboration between the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance and the Extended Education office at UA Little Rock. Students will learn about acting, theatre-making, and teamwork through weekly workshops led by a theatre instructor and professional actor. This play-oriented, guided process is designed specifically for pre-teens to develop their acting skills through theatre games, improvisation, and scene development. Students will learn to experience self-expression, practice good listening skills, and learn the value of creative collaboration. The workshop culminates in a final showcase shared with family and friends. The cost is $275 per student. Students may register by visiting the Extended Education website and clicking on Design, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts classes.
