UA Little Rock to host International Celebration Week

International Celebration Week Schedule

UA Little Rock will celebrate the benefits of a diverse, international student body on campus and support exchange and international education for a week of on-campus events from Nov. 15-18.

International Celebration Week will launch with “The Food & Poster” Fair on Nov. 15 from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Hall. It celebrates our wide variety of cultures and food from the international students represented on campus.

Following that event, the International Game Night will begin from 6:30-9 p.m. It’s a great time to spend time with students from other countries and play traditional games/board games.

The International Fashion Show is an opportunity to wear traditional dress from your homeland or culture on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 11:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. We will have you walk the runway, while our emcee announces your country, your clothing, and other descriptions you provide. Possible outfit ideas include formal wear, clothing for celebrations, day-to-day wear, etc.

Tuesday’s events will continue from 3.-4 p.m. with a Study Abroad Panel, a platform for students, teachers, and staff to learn more about the UA Little Rock Abroad office.

The “International Display of Culture” will be a fun event on Wednesday, Nov. 17, that displays cultural dances and songs, etc. on stage from 11:30 a.m – 2 p.m.

International Celebration Week will close out with “Foreign Language Corner”, an event to help students work on their language skills, on Thursday, Nov. 18, from Noon- 1 p.m and a soccer game starting at 6 p.m.

All events are free and open to the public and will be held in the Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter A, B, C. Registration to attend these events can be found at this link.
